What are the benefits of Tai Chi?
Tai Chi is one of the most evidenced-based forms of exercise that provides numerous benefits to the aging population! The Open the Door to Tai Chi system teaches trainers the basics of Tai Chi, the underlying principles of Tai Chi and provides instruction for teaching Tai Chi as a form of exercise. The medical community is recommending Tai Chi to their patients and trainers need to add this as an offering to their class selection.

Participants will be introduced to Tai Chi and learn why it is an important exercise modality for the aging population. They will learn some Tai Chi movements in addition to discovering the many benefits Tai Chi can offer their clients. They will learn how to incorporate Tai Chi into their personal training/group class offerings.

This one-day workshop teaches the attendees all of the individual moves of the Yang style 24 short form of Tai Chi and teaches them how to put these moves together into the flow of the form. Attendees also learn the 8 underlying principles of Tai Chi which drive the benefits and how to incorporate these principles as they teach Tai Chi. Dianne Bailey, the creator of the Open the Door to Tai Chi system instructs the entire workshop and provides individual feedback to each participant regarding their understanding of Tai Chi.
